I recently uploaded a blog on my motivational mood board. This was a little experiment I tried to help keep myself motivated. I have always struggled with staying focused and completing important tasks. Having this mood board has changed everything for me. I’m now a lot more focused and I’m excited to get work done. I thought I would go into the meaning of some of my mood board images to help inspire you to create one.
Some may think that some of my goals on my board may be difficult or unlikely to achieve. But that’s the point of the board, to help you focus on working towards your dreams.
The first image on my board is a giant lipstick – this has a couple of meanings behind it. As a lot of you will know, makeup is a huge passion of mine, I have loved it for many years. That is one reason it is up there but also, I have seen so many people succeed in coming out with their own makeup brands. One day I like to think I will be lucky enough to come out with my own products or work with a company to create my own products. It’s a hard to get dream, but I believe anything is possible!
Underneath my lipstick is a camera and a laptop – these two have a collaborative meaning. This is a reference to this blog and my videos I produce. Sometimes I feel I’m not uploading enough content on my website, so this is to remind me to work on it whenever I can. This blog is a huge passion of mine so I want to make sure I stay focused on keeping it going and improving my website.
There’s a Minecraft heart on my mood board cause I have a secret love for the game. Don’t judge…
Next up, is the blue aeroplane. This is quite self explanatory but I have always wanted to travel the world. Some of my best memories are when I have been travelling with my family and it’s something I always want to continue doing. I absolutely love learning about different cultures and how people live all around the world. It’s really interesting how different other peoples lives are to my own. It’s a way to really appreciate life and see all the beautiful places in the world. I definitely see myself exploring many wonderful countries in the future. Hopefully all of them!
Under my aeroplane is a small alarm clock with the time 6 o’clock on it. This is probably one of my hardest goals I have set myself – and not going to lie, one I haven’t been able to achieve yet. This is a reference to waking up at 6am, and it’s something I want to do on a daily. I am much of a night owl so I think this is one reason I am really struggling to achieve this goal. I tend to go to sleep around 12-1am most days, even if I have to be up early the next day. Waking up for me has been slowly getting earlier, but I’m still a long way from reaching this goal. Hopefully soon I will be doing this everyday without hesitation.
Following after is my classic Volkswagen camper van. When I was younger I used to go to a lot of classic car shows and there would always be a couple of these dotted around. I fell in love with them the moment I set eyes on one. They are the most adorable little vans in the world. One day I would love to own one of these and take lots of little road trips to many different places – another image linked to travel.
My London image is one that is coming up literally in a week from writing this. I am travelling down to London to go to Love Box festival. I needed to make sure I saved enough money so I could enjoy myself whist I was down there. This has really been motivating me to work hard and make sure I have enough cash for the trip. So far it is working really well and I know I’m going to be absolutely fine.
The little diamond is not an indication to me wanting lots of diamonds (although that would be nice). Recently I have started working for The Gypsy Shrine, one of my favourite beauty brands if you can’t already tell. These are a company which sell face jewels for festivals and special events. Before I got this job I was really nervous about the interview and if I would get the job. So I put this up there to keep myself confident and tell myself “I am getting this job”. To my surprise it actually worked! I keep the image up there because I’m proud of working for this brand and I want to remind myself to work hard there, this couldn’t be a more perfect job for me.
Now it is a little cringe me putting up my dream car on my board, but one day I hope I can have it. But it’s not just an implication that I want my dream car. I’m actually learning to drive at the moment – and I think I am very close to doing my test. So of course when I do eventually pass my test, I am going to want a car. This image is more the aspect of having a car, rather than my dream car. Although, I’m never going to stop dreaming about that.
Further under my car I have painted a paint brush and palette. Even though this board is creative in itself, sometimes I go long periods of time without doing anything creative. Whether that be painting, drawing or crafting something. I am a very creative person and love doing all these things. This image is just a reminder to keep my creative juices flowing as much as possible. Whenever I have some free time, do something creative!
When I was younger I never read any books, in fact I dreaded reading. I had been watching lots of videos on trying to get myself motivated but I was really struggling implying them to my life. About a year ago I decided to purchase a couple books, not story books but more self help books. I decided to put some books on my board because reading these books has been a life changer, and actually where I came up with the idea for this board. Since then my book collection has grown greatly, there’s still lots of books I need to get through. This picture is to remind me to read more often, especially when I know how much they have helped me over this last year.
The heart with the weights and the peach emoji next to it are another pair on my board which have a similar meaning. The peach many be obvious to some, I want a bigger bum. To get that I need to make sure I work out often. This heart is a reminder to keep myself physically fit but also to keep myself mentally healthy. I found the best way to do both is to exercise in nature – having that fresh air and peaceful surrounding really helps calm me and make me feel happy. Some of my favourite exercising has been running and cycling as it gets me outdoors. I even did some climbing the other day at Go Ape and that was a really amazing experience.
Up from there is an image of a girl applying lipstick, this is another makeup related image. This is a reminder of what I love to do. Although I don’t really need reminding of this – but I put it up there anyway. I always want to focus on my career in makeup and improving my skills constantly.
Last but not least, the cherry blossom branch in the top right hand corner. This image is another travelling one (if you can’t tell I really want to travel). One place I am desperate to visit is Japan. I have a weird obsession with cherry blossom trees, so I would love to visit some of their beautiful gardens in the spring. Also their culture is very intriguing to me, it’s so different to the UK! I’ve seen so many vlogs and images in Japan and it looks like an awesome place to visit. Definitely up there on my bucket list.
This blog is very personal to me and my dreams. Hopefully it inspires you to do everything you dream of in life. I aim to tick every thing on this board of and make it a reality. Having it there everyday to look at and help me focus on what I want, and believing it will make these things happen!
Thanks for reading!
