This makeup look was inspired by a photo I saw of Kylie Jenner on Pintrest but slightly modified for a personal touch to the makeup.
I begin by prepping my skin using the Malin + Goetz Vitamin E Face Moisturiser* and applying that all over my face and neck, then leaving it to sink into the skin for a couple of minutes.
To prime my face I use one of my new favourite primers, Hourglass Veil Primer*. This literally makes your skin feel like velvet and is the perfect base for foundation to go over the top.
Kylie is always glowing from within so I wanted to replicate this by using Cover Fx Custom Enhancer Drops* in the colour Moonstone, under my foundation to give it that beautiful natural glow.
For a really flawless base, I like to conceal any imperfections before I apply my foundation, the concealer I like to use is Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer* in the shade Light 1. I just dot it in the areas it is needed then blend it out using my finger. I think the shade is quite similar to my face colour so it really helps smooth everything out and looks flawless.
My go-to foundations at the moment are the Laura Mercier Candleglow* in the shade Creme and the Nars Sheer Glow* in Gobi. I love to mix these because together they give the most beautiful glowy finish but still with a nice coverage. I usually would apply with a flat angled brush, like the Zoeva 103* / Defined Buffer Brush, but for this video, I used my Real Techniques Beauty Sponge*. This really gave a gorgeous smooth finish to the foundation, blending it out seamlessly.
Now to prep my eyelids for eyeshadow I applied my Collection concealer all over my lid, and to conceal my under eyes I used the Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer* in the shade Fair Neutral. I also use this to highlight the high points of my face such as my forehead, nose, chin and cupids bow. I then just blend the concealer out with my damp beauty sponge, making sure it naturally blends out with my foundation.
Recently I have really been into cream bronzing. In this video I tried out the Laura Mercier Sunset Bronzing Crayon* and applied this around the edges of my face to bring some warmth to my face. I find the best brush to blend this out with is a Zoeva 125* / Stippling Brush as it blends it out flawlessly but without moving the foundation underneath.
To set my under eyes I use the Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder* on a Zoeva 110* / Face Shape Brush. This is honestly one of the best undereye setting powders I have ever used and really does help brighten the undereye and reduce creasing in the concealer. I also apply a tiny amount on my eyelid to set the concealer, ready for eyeshadow to be applied on top.
I decided to use a dark highlighter to bronze my skin, the Laura Mercier Face Illuminating Powder* in the shade Indiscretion on a Zoeva 127* / Luxe Sheer Cheek Brush. Because I had already cream bronzed I didnt want to add a really pigmented powder on top, otherwise, I feel it would have looked a bit muddy, also Kylie Jenner always has that beautiful radiance to her skin, which the highlighter worked perfectly to achieve.
Giving myself that really contoured chizled cheekbones I take my usual Benefit Hoola Bronzer* on a Zoeva 109* / Luxe Face Paint Brush. Applying this under my natural cheekbones really helps to lift my face and Kylie has always got that perfect contoured look.
I completely forgot to powder my face before bronze, contour, and blush so I applied it after. One of the best powders on the market is the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder*, I used the shade Diffused Light and brushed it over my face using a Zoeva 106* / Powder Brush. This powder really gives a beautiful airbrushed effect, it’s like I’m using an Instagram filter it makes your skin look so perfect and smooth.
My face makeup is basically done (apart from highlighter) so I decide to fill in my eyebrows. I have really been loving the cream products for brows recently over a pencil. They really help to give perfect precise “Instagram brows”. I use the Becca Shadow and Light Brow Mousse* and apply it with a Zoeva 317* / Wing Liner Brush. I would compare the formular to Anastasia Beverly Hills Dip Brow.
To set my brows in place I have been using MUA Lash & Brow Clear Gel Mascara*, it is so cheap but does work really well to set my brows in place. I also like making the hairs at the front of my brow look a little more untamed, so I like to use this gel to fluff up the front of my brows and make them stick in place all day long.
Time for eyeshadow! Now, this look is simple but has quite a lot of steps, I’m going to try and explain as well as possible so you can follow them easily.
Using the same brush I apply a slightly darker warm brown to my crease and blending it up into the transition shade. I’m bringing this quite high up on my eye as we will be doing a sort of feathered out cut crease later on.
Now I’m going in with my Becca Ombre Rouge Eye Palette and taking the middle shade on the same brush and focusing this more in my crease. You really want to make sure you blend until it all seamlessly blends together. I just build this colour up, applying a couple of layers.
I then move on to the Forth shade in this palette and using the same brush again, blend this colour into the crease also. This is going to give a perfect ombre effect blending each colour on top slowly, rather than going in with a dark shade straight away and trying to blend it out.
To finish my crease off I take the Fifth shade in the Becca palette* and using a Zoeva 231* / Luxe Petit Crease brush I blend this dark shade into my crease. To really make sure it blends out nicely I use a clean Zoeva 227* /Luxe Soft Definer and go over the shade I just applied. Creating a soft cut crease I take a Morphe M507 Brush and focus that dark brown just above my crease, then blending it out with my soft definer brush again.
Under my eyes I use the forth shade from the Becca Palette on the Morphe M507 brush and blend this under my eyes. I make this thicker than I usually would but make sure it is blended out really well to give that sexy smoked out look. I also take that same shade on a Zoeva 237 / Detail Shader brush and put this in the outer corner of my eye, for a base for a darker shade later.
All over my lid I use a warm shimmer shade from the NARS Wanted Palette on the same Zoeva 237 and apply this all over my top lid, taking it up to the darker crease colour, and then lightly brushing over the edges with my blending brush to ensure there are no harsh edges.
Using the darkest shade from the NARS Wanted Palette on a Zoeva 231 / Luxe Petit Crease Brush, I work this shade by patting it right on the outer corner of my eye and very slightly blending into my outer crease, trying to give my eye that cat-eye effect with the shadow. I find this easiest to achieve by applying the shadow first – not too far out on your eyelid – then blending it carefully outwards in the direction you want the shadow to go.
To finish off the cat-eye look I take my favourite drugstore pencil liner, Rimmel London Scandeleyes Waterproof pencil liner*, and draw a thin line to my top lashes. Bringing it about 1/3 from the outer corner to the center. I also apply just to my top waterline to make my lashes appear thicker when I eventually apply them.
Taking the darkest shade again from the Becca palette on a Zoeva 237 / Detail Shader Brush, I use this to smoke out the black liner on my outer corner and bring it slightly out, giving a very soft winged liner look. I also add a small amount to my lower lashes, blending it well into the other brown shade.
Now time for lashes, I use my favourite mascara at the moment MaxFactor Masterpiece Max Mascara* and apply this to my top lashes. For bottom lashes I really love Maybelline Great Lash Mascara, the brush is so tiny and really helps create beautiful long bottom lashes.
Finishing my face and eye makeup off I take the most stunning highlighter from Laura Mercier, on my Zoeva 105 / Luxe Highlight Brush, and apply this basically all over my face. My inner corner, cupids bow, brow bone, cheekbones and chin. I really wanted to look super glowy as everyone knows Kylie always has that beautiful glow from within.
Some of my favourite lashes to wear recently have been the Eyeleur 116 Natural Lashes*, they are quite natural looking but still make your lashes look thicker and longer.
For my lips I start off my lining them with the Nars Velvet Lip Liner* in Anse Soleil. For this look I did overdraw my lips slightly because I was trying to achieve the Kylie powty look as much as possible, but I didn’t want to go overboard and make it super obvious I had over drawn my lips.
Honestly my favourite lipstick recently has been this lipstick I used in this tutorial, the Lipstick Queen Velvet Rope Liptick* in the shade Star System. These matte listicks are unbelievably creamy and are so long lasting, plus can’t deny the shades are gorgeous. I think this shade was the perfect pinky nude for this makeup look.
To finish everything off, I apply the NARS lipgloss* in the shade Baby Doll. Although Kylie has matte lips in the photo, I wanted to add a gloss to make my lips seem a bit plumper. Kylie has beautiful big lips and I personally have a lot smaller lips, so to give that plumpness I thought a nice lipgloss would be perfect over the top. You can skip this step if you prefer the matte look.
Thank you so much for watching this tutorial, I really hope someone recreates this look. It is definitely one of my favourite makeup looks I have done on my channel. Let me know your thoughts in the comments and also if there is any other celebrity makeup you would like to see from me.
