Hello everyone! Today I created this stunning grundy New Years Eve makeup for all of you that like your funky colours but still want to be glam!
First I took this white eyeshadow from the Morphe 35P Palette* and applied that all over my eyelid as a base using the Zoeva 222* / Luxe all over shader brush, which is perfect for applying one shade all over the lid.
Next, for a transition shade, I use this khaki rose pink shade with a Zoeva 228* / Luxe crease brush and apply that to my crease, making sure it is blended out smoothly.
Now mixing these two purple shades together, I’m applying this on a Zoeva 231* / Luxe petit crease brush and focusing this into my crease and my outer and inner corner of my eye, blending it out into my transition shade.
Taking this dark wine shade with the same brush, I’m applying this to my outer corner slowly starting to smoke out the look. Also, running this under my lower lash line to connect the lower lash line with the rest of the eyeshadow.
To make this eye look nice and smokey, I’m taking this black from the same palette and applying this to my outer corner blending it with the other purple shades and also lightly dusting this in my inner corner to bring the eyeshadow all together. To make my eyes seem elongated, I use a 221 / Luxe soft crease blending brush and gently flick out the outer corners of my eyeshadow, this gives the illusion of lifted eyes. (TIP: If this goes a little out use your beauty blender to clean up the edges)
I’m going back in with one of the purple shadows from earlier and applying that all over my lid using my finger, then with my blending brush making sure that is all seamlessly blended together.
I’m taking one of my new favorite palettes, Anastasia Beverly Hills Aurora Glow Kit, taking the highlight Luna I’m applying that to the centre of my eye using a Zoeva 226* / Smudger brush to really make my eyeshadow pop.
To add a little bit of extra glam to my look, I’m using some fine white glitter with purple reflects and using the same brush again, going over Luna to make it really eye-catching.
Now to finish the eyeshadow I’m Regina George’ing it up with a couple of inner corner gemstone (Mean Girls reference). This really adds some holiday glam to the whole look.
Because you can never have enough glitter I thought instead of my usual black winged liner I would use this Urban Decay Heavy Metals eyeliner* in Glam Rock, which is tiny silver glitter pigments.
To make my lashes nice, black and separated I’m taking Maybelline Great Lash mascara*. I love using this when I’m going to apply false lashes because it doesn’t clump up my lashes and also helps blend the false lashes in with my real ones, so they appear more natural.
I wanted this look to look super grunge, so I use this black Scandal Eyes Waterproof pencil liner* by Rimmel in my top and lower lash line and blend it into my lower lashes using a small M507 crease blender brush from Morphe. This brush is perfect for the lower lash line if smudging out liner or even applying colour eyeshadow!
For false lashes, I’m taking some favourites of mine, the Eyelure 116 natural lashes*. These are perfect if you want some natural lengthening lashes.
To bronze, I’m taking my much loved Hoola bronzer on a Zoeva 127* / Luxe sheer cheek blush and bronzing around my face, my cheekbones and under my chin to define my features and also make myself look a little less dead.
For once in my videos I’m NOT using my Benefit rockateur blusher! I decided to use the Too Faced Sweethearts Perfect Flush Blush* in the shade Something About Berry on a Zoeva 101* / Luxe face definer. This is a beautiful bright pink and I thought because the rest of the look was very cool I needed to add some colour somewhere in my makeup look, otherwise I would feel very washed out.
Next, to finish off I am highlighting and I’m using the Auroa palette and mixing the top 3 shades in the palette to create a custom highlighting colour. To apply this I’m using a Zoeva 105* / Luxe highlighting brush. This is my favourite brush to highlight with because it really packs on the highlight but is also precise in where you want to place it.
To finish my grunge NYE makeup look I’m taking two liquid lipsticks. First I’m applying the Anastasia Beverly Hills liquid lipstick in the shade Clover and applying this all over my lips, and to give the lips a very suttle ombre effect I mix both lipsticks equally together (the other being Caramello by Stila) and apply this in the centre of my lips. This just helps bring the eye colours together with the lip and makes the perfect lip shade. If the grunge purple shade is not your cup of tea you could always pair this eye makeup with a nice cool toned nude, that would go nicely with the eye look too!
Thanks so much for watching I hope you like this tutorial, I love how this makeup turned out. It is perfect for NYE or even if you want to go all out this Christmas, or even if you just want to glam yourself up for a night out.
